3.2 certification

3.2 Certification

EN 10204 Type 3.2 certificates provide independent assurance of a material’s properties. Whereas a 3.1 certificate provided by the material manufacturer declares the product is in compliance with the order requirements – usually an industry standard such as ASTM – the 3.2 certificate provides an extra level of certainty. The certificate is prepared by a 3rd party, where the surveyor verifies the material’s traceability by witnessing test results. Whilst 3.2 certification assumes it is undertaken during manufacture, ‘intent of’ 3.2 certification can be undertaken on stock within our warehouse, without the cost and lead time of mill production.

Langley Alloys can arrange for 3.2 ‘intent-of’ 3rd party witness inspection from various authorities such as TUV Nord, Lloyds Register, De Norske Veritas (DNV) and Bureau Veritas (BV).
